These settings control a so-called Message Router for the Nets payment terminal. A Message Router is an intermediate service that can route the messages between the Pos and the payment terminal. The feature is only used in special setups — in the vast majority of installations it should not be activated.
The settings are read by the local agent on the POS computer and forwarded to the Nets driver. The terminal itself is activated and otherwise set up under Nets Payment Terminal. If you are unsure whether your setup requires a Message Router, contact support before changing the values.
1. Open the Pos (the POS app) on the computer the terminal is connected to. 2. Go to Settings. 3. Select Nets Payment Terminal, and open the sub-item Message Router.
Message Router On: Turns the use of the Message Router on or off. Specified as a number, where 0 = off and 1 = on. The default is 0, so the Message Router is disabled by default. Only set the value to 1 if your setup explicitly requires the terminal messages to be sent through a Message Router.
Message Router Ip Address: The IP address of the machine where the Message Router runs. The default is 127.0.0.1, which means the same computer as the POS/agent itself. Only change this if the Message Router runs on a different machine on the network.
Message Router Port: The network port the Message Router listens on. The default is 6000. The value must match the port the Message Router is actually configured to use.
