# Templates in Sapera

Create and manage templates used as the basis for new tenants in Sapera.

### What are templates?

Templates are predefined configurations used as a starting point when a new tenant is to be created in Sapera. A template determines which features should be available and ensures a consistent setup across tenants.

The screen is visible only to DBO administrators and users logged in within a template context.

### How to access the screen

From the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of Sapera, open **Financial**.

In the left menu, select **Template**.

If you cannot see the menu item, you probably do not have permission to access it. Contact support.

### Overview of fields in the list

**Name:** The template's unique identifier. Cannot be changed after creation.

**Description:** Optional free-text description of the template's purpose.

**Schema initialization:** Shows the status of the database schema's initialization after creation.

**Model initialization:** Shows the status of the data model's initialization.

**Master data initialization:** Shows the status of the master data (metadata) initialization.

**Schema:** The database schema name the template is linked to.

### Create a new template

1\. Click the button with the plus sign (New) at the top of the screen.

2\. Fill in the **Name** field. The name must be unique and can be a maximum of 20 characters. It cannot be changed after creation.

3\. Optionally fill in the **Description** field with a short explanation of the template's purpose.

4\. Select the **features** to be enabled for the template by ticking them in the tree structure. Use the buttons **Select all** and **Select none** to select or deselect all features at once.

5\. Save by clicking **Save** or apply changes via the form ribbon.

### Edit an existing template

1\. Select the desired template in the list.

2\. Click the edit button (pencil) at the top, or double-click the row.

3\. You can change the **Description** and adjust the selected **features**. The name cannot be changed.

4\. Save the changes.

### Delete a template

Select the template in the list and click the delete button (cross). The action is permanent.

### Set up a template (Start/Finish setup)

The button group **Start setup** / **Finish setup** allows you to temporarily log in to the template's context to configure settings directly on the template, as if you were logged in as a tenant based on that template.

1\. Select a template in the list and click **Start setup**. The system switches to the template context.

2\. Make the desired configuration changes in the relevant modules.

3\. Click **Finish setup** to return to the normal DBO context. It is not possible to start setup of a new template before the ongoing setup is finished.

### Rerun installation

If the installation process for a template fails, you can select the template and click **Rerun installation** to attempt the installation again.
