Imports existing gift cards with their balance and sale date so they can be redeemed in Sapera. ## How to use the action 1\. Select the action in the **Action** field. 2. Point to your data source – a **file** (CSV or Excel) or a **SQL query**. 3. Map the source columns to Sapera's fields in the column mapping (see _Source fields_ below). 4. Run **Compare** to see what will be created, changed or stay unchanged – without writing to Sapera. 5. Run **Update Sapera** to perform the import. Use the **Allow create** and **Allow update** parameters to control whether new rows are created and whether existing ones are updated. ## How matching and updating works Each row is matched on the gift card's **identifier** (Identifier). The action is used to **load existing gift cards** with balance and sale date – e.g. at start-up or when migrating from another system. - If the card does not exist it is created. Existing gift cards are **not updated** by the action. Direction: from file/SQL into Sapera. ## Key parameters

AllowCreate

When enabled, gift cards that do not exist are registered.

AllowUpdate

When enabled, existing gift cards are updated.

## Source fields

Amount

The original face value the gift card was issued with.

Identifier

The numeric gift card number (the identifier of the row).

RemainingAmount

The amount still left on the gift card; a withdrawal is created for any already-spent part.

SoldAt

The date the gift card was sold; when set the card is marked as sold.
