User Preferences gathers settings that control how Sapera's user interface behaves and looks — for example whether a built-in touch keyboard is used, how select fields are displayed, what color the top bar has, and whether pending notifications are shown at startup. Several of the settings can be set generally for the entire organization and then overridden per device or per user, where the most specific setting always wins.
The settings are accessed via Settings in Financial. Changing them typically requires administrator or setup permissions.
Controls whether Sapera uses its own built-in on-screen keyboard instead of the operating system's. The setting only takes effect on touch devices such as touch screens and tablets. It can be set generally and overridden per device and per user, where the most specific setting wins.
When it is set to Yes (default), Sapera uses its own built-in on-screen keyboard, which often positions itself closer to the field being entered into. When set to No, the operating system's own on-screen keyboard is used.
These settings control how select fields with few options are displayed. When a field has 2, 3 or 4 options, it can either be shown as a regular dropdown (combo box) or as radio buttons, where all options are visible at once and can be selected with a single tap.
On touch devices, this setting determines whether select fields with 2-4 options are shown as radio buttons instead of a dropdown. Set to Yes, radio buttons are shown, which especially on tablets can be faster, since only a single tap is needed to select the value. Set to No, a regular dropdown is shown. The setting is not seeded with a fixed default value.
Same function as above, but for the desktop/computer version of Sapera. Set to Yes, select fields with 2-4 options are shown as radio buttons; set to No, a dropdown is shown. The setting is not seeded with a fixed default value.
Here you can choose a custom color for the top bar (header) of Sapera's web client. This can be used, for example, to clearly distinguish between multiple environments or stores. If no color is chosen, the default color is used.
Controls whether Sapera, at login/startup, shows a popup with pending notifications if any exist. Set to Yes (default), the popup is shown at login. Set to No, no popup is shown at startup — the notifications can still always be seen via the notifications overview.
