The Quick barcodes printout creates a printable sheet of scannable barcodes used at the cash register. Instead of searching manually, staff can scan a barcode directly. The sheet can contain three types of barcodes:
- Login barcodes for the cashiers (users) that belong to the current store. - Barcodes for the active payment methods. - Product barcodes for the products you select via a search tag.
In addition, the sheet always contains a fixed OK barcode, which is used as a confirmation/control code when scanning.
1. From Financial, go to Product → Products.
2. Click the printer icon in the top right corner of the Products page.
3. Select the Quick barcodes printout.
4. Fill in the fields (described below).
5. Click the print format you want to print in. The result is a sheet of barcodes that you can print and hang up or place at the cash register.
If you cannot see the menu item Products or the printer icon, you probably lack permissions — contact support.
Choose between Yes and No. The default is Yes. When the field is set to Yes, a login barcode is included on the sheet for each cashier (user) linked to the current store. The employee can then log in to the cash register by scanning their barcode instead of typing in their login.
Choose between Yes and No. The default is Yes. When the field is set to Yes, a barcode is included for each active payment method, so the payment method can be selected by scanning.
Note to administrators: As the printout is configured today, the payment methods' barcodes are always included, regardless of whether the field is set to Yes or No. If you want a sheet entirely without payment methods, it is therefore not enough to set the field to No — contact support.
Enter a search tag (a text). The field determines which products are included as product barcodes: only the products that have exactly this search tag (and that are active in the current store) are printed.
If you leave the field blank, no product barcodes are included on the sheet (but users, payment methods, and the OK code are still included if they are selected). The search tag must therefore match the search tag set on the products in order for them to be included.
You can view and edit a product's search tags on the product itself under Financial → Product → Products.
Search tags are defined on the individual product and group products into groups that you name yourself. When you enter a search tag in the Quick barcodes printout, exactly the products that carry this search tag are selected, and their product barcode is included on the sheet.
Once the sheet is printed, the barcodes are used at the cash register (POS): the cashier scans their login barcode to log in, the product barcodes to add items to the cart, the payment-method barcodes to select a payment method, and the OK barcode as confirmation — all without manual searching or typing.
