On the serial-number item overview you have the With sales order filter - a powerful filter that finds serial-number items based on which sales orders and products are (or are not) linked to them within a given period. Combined with the ability to send SMS or email to the selected serial-number items, it is a strong tool for service follow-up, for example.
Period (sales order date) - only sales orders within a date range.
With product / Without product - e.g. serial-number items that have *not* had a specific service (product).
With product category / Without product category - the same, but at category level.
Sales order type and state - narrow to certain order types or statuses.
So you can find both the serial-number items that have had something specific done, and those that are missing it.
Go to the serial-number item overview.
Open the With sales order filter and select e.g.: period = last year, Without product = [the specific service].
Combine with the other filters on the overview as needed (e.g. owner, category, stock).
The result is the serial-number items that did not have the service performed in the period.
From the overview you can send SMS or email to the selected serial-number items. You can choose the recipient preference - e.g. Owner or User over owner - so the message goes to the right contact.
Select the serial-number items found.
Choose Send SMS or Send email.
Choose the recipient preference, write the message, and send.
Example: Find all serial-number items owned by a specific business customer that are Without product = [a specific service] this year, and send them a friendly reminder to book an appointment.

Serial-number items
