POS certificates are digital certificates (typically PFX or P12 files) used to cryptographically sign POS entries. A certificate is assigned to a POS terminal and ensures that the entries are immutable and can be verified digitally. The feature supports requirements for signed POS entries, for example for SAF-T reporting.
Each certificate keeps a revision history, so previous versions of the certificate file are preserved when the certificate is renewed. The current version is clearly marked in the list.
From the hamburger menu in the top left corner of Sapera, open Pos. In the left menu, select Configuration → POS certificates.
If you cannot see the menu item in the menu, you probably do not have permission to it. Contact support.
1. Click Create in the list of POS certificates.
2. Fill in the fields in the creation form (see below) and select a certificate file.
3. Click Save to save the certificate.
System name: A unique technical name for the certificate. The system name cannot be changed after creation.
Display name: The name shown in the user interface, for example on the POS configuration. Can be changed later.
Certificate file: The uploaded PFX or P12 file containing the certificate's key. The field is required on creation.
Password: The password protecting the certificate file. Specified when uploading the file.
If a certificate expires or needs to be renewed, the certificate file can be updated without deleting the certificate. Select the certificate in the list and click the action to update the file. You confirm the action, select the new file and enter the password. The previous certificate version is preserved in the revision history.
While editing a certificate, a list of all previous versions of the certificate file is shown. For each revision the following is shown: Version number, File name, whether the revision is the current one (Is current), as well as information about when and by whom the revision was created.
A certificate can be deleted as long as it is not in use on a POS terminal or linked to existing POS entries. If the certificate is in use, deletion will be rejected.
