This article describes the settings under Log for the Nets payment terminal. The settings control how the agent's communication with the Nets/Baxi driver is logged on the POS, including where the log files are stored, how detailed they are, and how long they are kept.
The settings are used by the local agent (CRS Agent) running on the POS, and are forwarded to the Nets/Baxi driver. They are primarily relevant when troubleshooting the payment terminal — in daily operation there is normally no reason to change them. The terminal itself is activated and set up under Nets Payment Terminal. Contact support if you are unsure about a value.
1. Open Pos (the POS app) and go to Settings.
2. Select Agent application → Nets Payment Terminal → Log.
Log file prefix: File name prefix for the log files. The value is used as the start of the name of the log files the driver writes, so they are easy to recognize. The default is `baxilog`.
Log file path: The folder where the log files are placed. The path is specified relative to the agent. The default is `.\logs\`, i.e. a subfolder named "logs" next to the agent. The path is also included in any error messages from the driver, so support can quickly find the right log.
Log trace level: The level of detail for the logging. A higher value gives a more detailed log with more information, which is useful when troubleshooting, but produces larger log files. The default is 3.
Log auto delete days: The number of days the log files are kept before they are automatically deleted by the agent. This keeps the log folder clean and prevents old log files from piling up. The default is 14 days.
