This article explains how to set up older Verifone payment terminals (e.g. Yomani or VX 820) in Sapera. The settings control how the agent at the checkout communicates with the terminal over the network, as well as how the card and terminal receipt are printed. If you use a newer Verifone terminal, you should instead use the settings category Verifone P400 Terminal — the categories must not be confused.
1. From the hamburger menu in the top-left corner of Sapera, go to Financial.
2. Go to Setup → Settings → Point of Sales → Agent application → Verifone Payment Terminal.
Is Enabled: Enables the integration with an older Verifone terminal. Set to 1 if an older Verifone terminal is used at the checkout — otherwise 0. The default value is 0 (disabled).
The following settings are located under the subgroup General and describe the connection to the terminal itself as well as receipt printing.
Communication Method: Specifies how the agent communicates with the terminal. The default value is ETHERNET, which is used when the terminal is connected via the network. Serial connection is the other option as per Verifone's documentation. In the vast majority of setups, ETHERNET is used.
IP: The terminal's IP address on the network. Filled in when communicating via ETHERNET, so the agent can find the terminal. The default value is 192.168.1.153, but must be adjusted to the actual IP address the terminal has on your network.
Port: The TCP port the terminal listens on. The default value is 2000, which is typically used for an ethernet connection.
Baud Rate: The speed for a serial connection. For an ethernet connection this is typically 0 (the default value) and only needs to be changed if the terminal is connected via a serial connection.
Print in bold: Determines whether the entire card/terminal receipt should be printed in bold. Set to 1 for bold — otherwise 0. The default value is 1 (bold).
Print as one receipt: Determines whether the sale receipt and card receipt are printed together as one receipt. Set to 1 to combine them on one receipt, or 0 to print them as two separate receipts. The default value is 0 (separate receipts).
