This article explains the setup of gift cards in Sapera, including automatic creation on sale, restriction to creation in the cash register and generation of web codes.
From Shop Manager, select "Setup" → "Settings" → "Financial" → "Gift Card".
If you cannot see the menu item, you probably do not have permission to access it. Contact support.
Create new Gift Card on sale: Specifies whether a new gift card should be created automatically when a gift card product is sold.
Enabled: A new gift card is created automatically when a gift card product is sold.
Disabled (default): A gift card is not created automatically on sale — it must be done manually.
Create Gift Cards only in Cash Register: Specifies whether gift cards can only be created from the cash register.
Enabled (default): Gift cards can only be created in the cash register — the button to create gift cards is hidden in the gift card archive.
Disabled: Gift cards can also be created in places other than the cash register, for example from the gift card archive in Shop Manager.
Generate Gift Card Web codes: Specifies whether new gift cards should automatically have a web code generated. The web code can be used to redeem the gift card online and is shown as a column in the gift card archive when the setting is enabled.
Enabled: New gift cards automatically get a web code, and the web code column is shown in the gift card archive.
Disabled (default): Web codes are not generated automatically.
