The economy overview gives a grouped overview of what has been posted on a single serial-number product (for example a machine): income, costs and stock value – and the overall result. It is useful when you want to see what a specific unit has cost and earned over time.
How to find the economy overview
Open Financial from the hamburger menu in the top left corner. Select Product and then Serial-number products. Open a saved serial-number product, click More (the three dots) in the toolbar, and choose Economy overview.
The menu item is only active for a serial-number product that has already been saved, and it is available both in full-screen editing and in popup editing.
If you cannot see the menu item, you probably do not have permission for it – contact support. The overview only shows figures for the departments you are allowed to see financial entries for.
The economy overview is available from the November 2026 release. Entries posted before this release are not classified and are not included in the overview.
Choose a period
At the top you choose From and To, and optionally Organisational units. Income and costs are calculated for the chosen period, while the stock value is the balances up to and including the To date.
Income and costs
The left side shows Income and costs with the columns Line, Postings and Amount. Income is shown with a positive sign and costs with a negative sign:
Income: Sale of the unit, including part sales and rental.
Overprices and discounts: Overprice adjustments and discounts on the unit.
Purchase: What the unit was bought for.
Preparation: Preparation costs, including capitalised preparation.
Warranty claims and warranty compensation: Amounts relating to warranty.
Accrued costs: Costs that have been accrued.
Total: The sum of income and costs in the period.
Stock value
The right side shows Stock value – the balances up to and including the To date (regardless of the From date):
Purchase, Capitalised preparation, Part sale, Value adjustment, Purchase reduction from overprice, Converted value adjustment, Machine transfer and merge and Disposal on sale.
Stock value (accounting): The unit's booked stock value.
Stock value (inventory): Shown only when the To date is today or in the future and all departments are selected.
If the booked stock value differs from the inventory stock value, the warning "The booked stock value differs from the inventory stock value." is shown.
Result
At the bottom, Result is shown, which is the sum of Income and costs plus Stock value (accounting). This gives you the overall financial picture of the unit.

Serial-number items
A serial-number item is a unique instance of a base product with its own serial number, barcode and registration number. The screen gives an overview of all serial-number items, the ability to create, edit, copy and delete them, as well as access to tabs for costs, financial entries, rental contracts, history, payment plans and attachments.
Serial-numbered item not in stock: sale, return and buy-back
When you add a serial-numbered item (e.g. a machine, bike or scooter with a frame/serial number) to a sales order, an invoice or at the point of sale, and the item is not in stock at the department you are in, Sapera shows the "Serial-numbe
